SSP affiliated fairs have been naming their winners and we've been highlighting the finalists who will attend Intel ISEF on our Facebook page. Here is a recap of some recent stories. 

  • Ohio: Michael Litt earned a spot at Intel ISEF 2014 for his project, “Statistical Filter for Capturing Trends in Noisy Data."
  • Virginia: Abigal Johnson won at the Shenandoah Valley Regional Science Fair, making her an Intel ISEF finalist.
  • South Dakota:  Marc Seitz, John Wieland, Darienne Frericks and Emma Johnson qualifed to come to Los Angeles at the 31st annual Northern South Dakota Science and Math Fair on March 27.
  • Texas: Friendswood High School students Jamie McCullough and Roma Pradhan became Intel International Science and Engineering finalists after several rounds of competition.
  • Michigan: Port Huron North students Jay Mehta, Aishah Ahmed and Sophia Ahmed discuss their projects and the prospect of attending Intel ISEF.
  • Connecticut: Three years of research have finally paid off for Megan Boyer, who won a spot at Intel ISEF for her research comparing running with and without shoes.
  • California: Isfar Munir took home the Grand Prize Award at the Synopsys Sacramento Regional Science & Engineering Fair, qualifying for Intel ISEF 2014 with his project, "The effects of temperature on the deflection of an electric arc generated by a Tesla coil."
  • Missouri: John Rodgers and Austin Van de Ven also became finalists.
