SSP's archive has some incredible competition pictures from years' past. Here is a promotional photo for ISEF 1991 held in Orlando, Florida. We're pretty sure the picture was taken the year before in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Does anyone reading remember?

Here is the caption that went with the photo:

THE INNOVATORS OF TOMORROW -- more than 750 contestants from more than 400 affiliated science fairs will take part in the 42nd annual ISEF in Orlando, Florida, May 5-11. Arriving from 47 states, American Samoa, Guam, Puerto Rico and seven foreign countries, high school students grades 9 through 12 compete in one of 13 science categories. Projects are judged by more than 800 scientists, engineers, and mathematicians.

Some things that have definitely changed in 23 years. This year, Intel ISEF had 1,748 finalists who competed in 17 different categories from 426 participating affiliated fairs and more than 70 participating countries and territories!
