Education Outreach Day Program
A Day To Be Inspired by Science | Program Goals |
This year we anticipate 3,000 local students and their teachers to attend the Education Outreach Day Program on Thursday, May 16, 2019. Public and charter schools are invited to attend—many from underserved communities and schools that don’t have their own science activities. Students experience science first-hand through a full day of interactive, hands-on science programming including viewing finalists’ projects. Students will experience real world science in action from a broad spectrum of disciplines such as marine biology, environmental science, engineering and robotics. The Program encourages students to think critically, work together, and get excited about science. | 1) Get local students excited about science, learning and exploring. 2) Enable more than 3,000 students and their teachers from approximately 50 local schools to participate by providing them with grants for transportation and substitute teacher costs. 3) Connect Phoenix area students with local organizations such as museums, universities and professional science associations. |
