Cookies, soda, candy, chocolate: It can be hard to resist the temptation of sugary-sweet treats and drinks.
But sugar is high in calories, and eating too much of it can cause weight gain and other health problems. That's why millions of people drink diet sodas and eat foods that contain artificial sweeteners in place of sugar. These synthetic chemicals taste sweet, but they have no calories.
It can be hard to resist the temptation of chocolate and other sweet treats.
