Every year, thousands of individuals contribute their time and energy to Intel ISEF—as judges, interpreters, and event volunteers. Through generous donation of their own time, our volunteers help us inform, educate, and inspire.
Why Volunteer at Intel ISEF?
- Gain personal satisfaction and inspiration from these motivated young scientists and engineers.
- Support STEM education.
- Earn community service or outreach credit from your business, school, or institution.
- Take a break and give back to a good cause
More than 500 volunteers across a spectrum of activities are needed. Volunteer opportunities are available during the week in a range of shifts. We encourage you to explore all of the volunteer opportunities and experience Intel ISEF in your community.
More than 1,000 judges are needed in 22 scientific disciplines. Judging is the single most important event of the Intel ISEF for finalists and, in the words of a recent judge, “Judging was one of the most personally challenging, educational and rewarding experiences I have had in some time. These are truly amazing people!” And from another, “I cannot emphasize enough what a fantastic experience this science fair is for students and judges alike.” Learn more about the qualifications and time commitment.
Student teams from more than 70 countries, regions, and territories participate in Intel ISEF. Approximately 200 interpreters are needed to work with students in conversational or scientifically-informed interpretation. Greatest demand is for Spanish, Russian, and Mandarin, but there is need anticipated for over a dozen languages.
In the words of past volunteers...
"All those young future scientists and engineers give me renewed hope for the future of our planet!"
“I leave every Intel ISEF with renewed hope for humanity!”
“I must admit I didn't know anything about Intel ISEF before—what an inspiring experience! I learned so much and met so many neat and talented people.”
"It was such a wonderful experience that I’m already considering my participation for next year.”
